CAMPING & GLAMPING FAQ

Hopefully this list will answer any questions you have, if not please click here to get in touch and we will do our best to answer.

How many tents can you fit on a standard pitch?
It depends on the size of your tent! A standard pitch is 10m (78.5m2) in diameter typically two standard sized 2 man tents can fit on one of our standard pitches.

How many tents can you fit on an oversized pitch?
An oversized pitch is 15 metres (177m2) in diameter which typically can fit a large family tent with porch comfortably, or 2-3 smaller tents, all depending on size.

What Size pitch should I book?
That is all dependent on the number of tents you are bringing and their size. Please check the dimensions of your tents and compare them to the pitch sizes ( standard pitch 10m in diameter, over sized pitch 15m in diameter). Please ensure your tent(s) fit comfortably onto the pitch, this includes your guy ropes not encroaching outside of the mown area or onto other nearly pitches.  If in doubt, please book additional pitches.  Where tents (including guy ropes) do encroach, you may be asked to move or incur additional charges.

Pitch Size Guide (pitches are for tents only) determine if it is large enough for your needs here https://twiteystipis.co.uk/camp-pitch-size-guide/

Can I run in the long grass?
Please NO! We would prefer our guests stick to the mown pathways because:

  • There are nesting birds as well as a home to plenty of bugs, beetles and maybe even snakes
  • Newly planted tree saplings
  • And of course the grass provides privacy from your neighbouring campers, and not to mention it does look nice.

Can I bring an extra car?
Yes you can. All cars are charged at £9.00 each per night. Please book all cars online. (limited numbers available)

Can I park my vehicle on the pitch?
No, vehicles of any description be they car, trailer, campervan, motorbike etc can be driven to a pitch. We provide wheelbarrows for transporting your gear to the pitch.  This lack of vehicles makes it safer, we wouldn’t be able to have fires with a car parked on the pitch. It’s also safer for the children too and there is no disturbance from headlights, engine noise, indicators and car doors closing especially late at night.

Can I add extra people to my booking?
You can add any additional people online up to the maximum numbers 6 and 8 respectively.

GROUP BOOKINGS – When booking large groups we would appreciate 1 point of contact / leader / organiser.
Any bookings that relate to large groups – PLEASE MENTION LEADER / ORGANISER  NAME ON BOOKING IN ADDITION TO YOUR OWN – THANK YOU.

Can I have a campfire?
Yes! Each pitch has its own fire-pit. After all  what is camping without sitting around a campfire toasting marshmallows, and looking at the stars.  Please take a look at our Camp Fires page

My friends are staying in a Yurt can I camp next to them?
Yes we have some pitches reserved for just this reason. Just send us an email when booking and we will try to make sure that you will be put next to them.  Alternatively you can also add this information in the booking notes section when booking your pitch, just write the surname of the booking you would like to camp next to.

Am I allowed to BBQ?
Yes you are, All we ask is for you to keep the BBQ raised off the ground ( we have bricks if needed) to prevent burn marks. You can also hire raised firepits in our shop.

I would like to pitch next to my friends, can I do this?
Yes, if there is space at the time of booking. We also offer double pitches, this is where two pitches are connected by a mown pathway. Just send a message when booking and let us know your preference and we will do our best to accommodate, or add the information into the notes section on the booking form.

Can I get a super market / online shop delivered
I’m afraid we don’t allow online shops to be delivered here. The closest supermarket is Sainsburys only 1 mile away in Wellesbourne where there is also a CO-OP. Stratford-upon-Avon also has a Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose and Aldi.

Can I bring my dog?
We only allow assistant dogs on our site. As much as we love domesticated dogs we cannot allow them on site, this is due in part to agricultural activities surrounding us.

Can I play ball games in the meadows?
Yes you can, this is one of the  many benefits of not having any vehicles near the pitches. We have also created open areas in the meadows, so there is plenty of space to play.

Can I leave my old camping gear?
Unfortuantely we have no facilities to dispose of your old or broken camping gear and we would greatly appreciate you taking it down to the local tip less than 1 mile away opposite Sainsbury’s. Thank-you.

What is the countryside code?
The countryside code is a set of guidelines that everyone should follow to ensure respect and enjoyment of the wonderful outdoors. for more information click here

Do the pitches have electric hook ups?
No, this is meadow camping, we pride ourselves on providing a traditional campsite, which are becoming harder to find. There are charging points available in our shop / coffee area where you can charge phones, tablets and laptops.

If there are no hook ups can I bring a generator?
Sorry, even a ‘silent’ generator still produces some noise, which would be likely to cause a nuisance. There are charging points available in our shop / coffee area where you can charge phones, tablets and laptops.

Do you have wifi?
No, sorry no wifi but the 4G here is usually very good (based on my service provider EE).

Is there lighting on site?
The kitchen, showers and pot washing area along with the shop have lighting from dusk until approximately 23:30.  For all other areas including the toilets, car parks, meadows etc. please bring a torch. By not providing lighting we are helping cut down on light pollution and carbon emissions.  This also helps with enjoying the starry sky’s whilst you are here and enhances the feeling of remoteness.
